Dr. Alessandra Glaser is a compassionate and board-certified physician specializing in addiction medicine. She brings over three years of dedicated experience in opioid addiction treatment, helping patients achieve long-term recovery through personalized and evidence-based care.
Dr. Glaser’s passion for medicine began during her college years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Initially exploring careers in counseling, teaching, and medicine, she ultimately chose to become a physician after a month-long trip to Mexico, where she realized her love for science, physiology, education, and building meaningful patient relationships.
Dr. Glaser earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She completed her residency training at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where she further developed her skills in patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
After completing her residency, Dr. Glaser practiced as an emergency room physician in Spring Hill, Tennessee, before transitioning to primary care. Her interest in addiction treatment grew when a colleague introduced her to the field. This led her to join Recovery by Intervention (RBI) part-time, eventually transitioning to full-time addiction medicine at RBI and Lewisburg Recovery Center in 2023.
Dr. Glaser finds great fulfillment in watching her patients rebuild their lives through recovery. She values the collaborative nature of her work, where she and her patients make decisions together based on education and understanding. For her, witnessing patients regain stability and confidence is the most meaningful aspect of her profession.
Dr. Glaser is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She is also a proud member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), reflecting her ongoing commitment to high-quality, patient-focused medical care.
Dr. Glaser believes in empowering patients through education and partnership. She emphasizes informed decision-making, ensuring that patients understand their treatment options. Her approach combines medical expertise with empathy, helping individuals take charge of their health and recovery journey.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Glaser enjoys spending time with her two sons, Michael and Owen, and their energetic Aussie-Spaniel mix, Blu. She loves exploring thrift stores, collecting books, and sharing her lifelong passion for reading with her children. She also enjoys hiking, cooking, baking, and playing pickleball—a hobby that earned her the playful nickname “She-Hulk” for her powerful overhead smash.
Dr. Glaser encourages anyone struggling with addiction to take the first step toward help, reminding them that asking for help is often the hardest part. She believes recovery is possible for everyone and is committed to supporting patients through every stage of their journey toward sobriety and renewed well-being.
